Early Beginnings

graphite rockFounded by Gerard Panganiban in 2004, Graphyte Technologies was originally called G-Designs[1][2][3][4].

Back then, Gerard was also freelancing as a web designer and developer, while also working full time in the same field.

After moving to the United States with his family from the UAE and finishing his MS in Human Computer Interaction at DePaul University, Gerard rebranded his company, ultimately calling it Graphyte Technologies in 2018.

In 2019, Graphyte Technologies was officially registered as a limited liability company (LLC) in the state of Illinois.

Nitin Reddy, the managing partner and CTO of Graphyte Technologies, joined after a year, providing technical advice and making key business-related decisions that have impacted the growth of the company.

According to Gerard, the name Graphyte is derived from the name of a carbon-based mineral called “graphite,” which can be turned into a diamond (and vice versa). Graphite is used extensively in writing implements, paints, automotive and sports equipment manufacturing.

And just like versatile graphite, Graphyte Technologies is envisioned to grow and expand its service and product offerings globally in the coming years.

Graphyte Technologies is wholly founder owned and funded.

Meet the GraphyteTeam

Founder & CEO

Creative, gritty, persistent and always forward thinking, Gerard is the brains behind Graphyte.

Gerard is not only a self-made businessman and inspirational leader but also a doting husband and father who enjoys watching Korean TV series and films (go K-Pop 😀 yay!) with his wife and daughter.

Aside from daydreaming (which he does a lot!), Gerard loves to listen to inspiring audio books on leadership, spirituality, self-improvement and motivation. He is always happy to wake up to a breakfast of his powered-up version of egg bhurji – enhanced with sliced mushrooms, celery, bell pepper, tomatoes, coriander, and various spices.

China, Japan and South Korea top Gerard’s must-visit places for business, tech innovation and futuristic technologies.

Gerard says he modeled Graphyte after the best Silicon Valley companies where work, fun, and play organically combine, while also ensuring everyone stays on track and upholds the core values and goals of the company.

He plans to end poverty by equipping people with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive, and by providing opportunities for them to apply their learning and experience. (Now, that’s teaching a person how to fish!)

And while Gerard is immersed in his entrepreneurial ventures and continues to pursue innovative opportunities in tech, he believes that life should be simple.

CTO & Managing Partner

As Graphyte™’s resident tech guru, Nitin enjoys knowledge-sharing immensely – in fact, it’s highly likely you’ll find him on Slack where he frequently engages in fruitful discussions with the team to come up with innovative ideas.

Although these days, Nitin is usually busy with work, there was a time when he binged on every single Marvel series featured on Netflix – including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.

When asked about his fondness for food, Nitin says that, regrettably, everything that tastes good has lots of cholesterol and calories – including his personal favorites: pizza, French fries, khachapuri and khichdi! But hey, life is short, right? 😀

Nitin spent his last holiday in Tbilisi and Borjomi in Georgia where he vividly remembers exploring the cobbled streets, visiting marketplaces, walking in the snow, and trying the local food whose charm, he says, is unmatched.

Topping his future holiday list are St. Petersburg and Moscow in Russia, the eco-valley community in Hungary, and the tech startup city of Auckland in New Zealand.

Nitin detests traffic jams, so it’s no wonder Nitin thinks the ability to fly is the best superpower ever!

In real life, Nitin envisions seeing Graphyte™ soaring high with the most influential and innovative tech giants in the world.

Content Manager

A certified logophile, Claire loves using big words but knows that simple, straightforward language works best in the world of marketing.

Claire is also a self-confessed running addict. And although she is no athlete, Claire has run a couple of 42Ks, 50Ks, and one 60K – both on and off-the-road. She warns that when she’s running, better not talk to her at all because she runs like she owns the road (yup, even when she’s not in the lead 😀 wink-wink).

Aside from running, Claire also enjoys watching K-comedies – whether films or TV series. She also finds cooking highly therapeutic and eating to be one of the simplest yet most enjoyable activities in life.

Claire dreams of traveling to Japan, South Korea, Bhutan, Vietnam, France, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Switzerland. She also wants to go on a Lord of the Rings tour (yes, there is such a thing!) in New Zealand, and see the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia.

Her ideal world is one where everyone plants their own food, and animals and trees are safe from human encroachment.

For Claire, being part of Graphyte™ is a dream come true, and she hopes to keep weaving words that engage and inspire as the company continues to thrive even in challenging times.
